About the 13 Trustee
As a Chapter 13 Trustee for the Eastern District of Virginia, I serve many people facing critical decisions that can affect their family, business and their own personal well being. These are very difficult times and having access to important information can be helpful at such times, and can make a difference in understanding the options and resources available to you through our office.
This website is provided to assist you as you navigate through what can be a very stressful time in your life, and help you to understand the processes of Chapter 13 Bankruptcy, and how it can work for you. This website is not intended to give you legal advice, and is no substitute for good representation. If a conflict exists between information on this site and information given to you by your attorney, defer to your attorney!
We will do our best to provide helpful links, maps, forms and other resources and, hopefully, answer questions that arise during your case administration.
As a "standing trustee" appointed by the United States Trustee Program, our office acts as a facilitator for both the debtor and creditor, as well as a contact point for the attorneys of both parties. We will always strive to provide the Bankruptcy Court with correct information, and attempt to remain neutral in issues between the debtor and the creditor.
Your first source of information is always your retained counsel, and we do not offer legal advice. Seek your attorneys advice on all legal matters.
Welcome to our website and we hope you find it helpful.
